Distinguished Employee Excellence Award

Established in 2020, the Distinguished Employee Excellence Award recognizes an employee with outstanding contributions to 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ in one or more of the following areas of focus; Student Success, Research and Scholarship, Accessibility, Regional and Community Engagement, Campus Culture & Environment, and/or Institutional Effectiveness.

Objective

The Distinguished Employee Excellence Award recognizes an employee with outstanding contributions to 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ in one or more of the following areas of focus from the WSU TC strategic plan.

Student Success

  • Fosters an environment supporting academic achievement and the essential life skills that lead to personal growth and development of students.

Accessibility

  • Actively reduces barriers to employee and student success by promoting enhanced engagement, access, and representation.

Regional and Community Engagement

  • Leveraged the distinctiveness of the region through engagement with students, faculty, and staff.

Campus Culture & Environment

  • Promotes a vibrant culture of pride; empowers and supports others to achieve results that support department or campus goals.

Institutional Effectiveness

  • Prioritizes the strategic and efficient stewardship of resources
  • Generates ideas that help to develop new or improved processes, systems, programs, or services
  • Cooperates and communicate with others in the workplace
  • Demonstrates exceptional service to the campus or community at large.

Eligibility

  • Nominees may be recognized once every three years
  • All 91¶ÌÊÓÆµ employees are eligible

Nominations

  • Award nominations due: March 13, 2026
  • Nominations are submitted online using the and should be limited to no more than 1000 words.  Attach at least 1 and up to three (3) supporting letters. Supporting letters should be in PDF format.
    • Self-nominations will be considered.
  • Nominees will be evaluated on contributions and accomplishments for calendar year 2025.
  • The awards committee will review applicants and evaluate them based on the criteria above. Up to three candidates may be recommended for the chancellor’s review.
  • The chancellor may select one or more recipients of the award.
  • Recipients will be presented with a keepsake to commemorate their distinguished honor.
