Endowed with a donation from Peter Smith, former interim vice chancellor for finance and administration, who recognized the importance of adjunct faculty to our campus, the 91¶ÌÊÓƵ Outstanding Adjunct STEM Faculty Award recognizes an adjunct faculty member who exemplifies high-quality teaching in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics-related academic programming. This award includes a personalized gift and a monetary award.

Eligibility

Teaching faculty with an FTE less than 100% and have worked in industry are eligible, with a preference toward those who are currently or have recently worked in industry.

Student evaluations will be used to identify the best adjunct faculty.

We seek nominations from a variety of WSUTC sources who might have unique insights into excellent teaching. Anyone can nominate an excellent teacher, including students, faculty, staff, supervisors, and academic directors. We also welcome self-nominations!

Because assessment is an essential aspect of measuring excellence, to qualify for this award, faculty must show evidence for their respective criteria. At least one peer teaching observation and data from BlueCourse evaluations are required, along with one additional category of evidence.
